Anna Mortimer’s Film accepted for Lichfield Screen Dance Festival

I have often thought that the most interesting part about making art is how others see and interpret your work. It is fascinating to see something that you have created take on a life of its own; sometimes far from anything that you had originally thought of or intended.

Working in video and using my body as both object and subject I was surprised when Stella one of the members of EncoreEast suggested that I was at times making dance films. So, when Stella spotted a call out for sixty second dance films for Lichfield Screen Dance Festival, I sent a few in.

Perhaps I was just exploring whether others might see my videos in the same way that Stella did and to my surprise Warp and Weft was accepted. It is one of only eight films to be shown at the festival which runs from September to the end of December.
