I think the 2 films also reflect the geography and demographic of where and with who they were made. Fine Lines from the artistic capital of Australia and Tystion from a working-class steel town in Wales.

This afternoon many hours of work culminated in the final edit of JOY, a dance film with Fine Lines Dance. Thanks for all your feedback, friends, local audiences and dancers. Now it is time to say this part is finished.

It is not the first time Samphire have danced ‘al fresco’; we have been known to play improvisation games on sandy beaches and create dance films in woodland. But this was the first time we were to dance outside in front of an audience. We were definitely up for the challenge.

I am passionate about dance…I co-founded Advantages of Age – advantagesofage.com – which is a social enterprise that challenges stereotypes around ageing and re-imagines getting older. I strive to do personally what we campaign for.

We are thrilled to be collaborating with DanceEast to showcase a wide range of films and performances at HOST 2022
