Focus… An Exciting Morning

Focus… An Exciting Morning

Awakening to a beautiful, bright, if chilly morning, the first bright morning for some days and 1st November, British Summer Time is officially over for another year.  How do I feel? Often, to my mind, a counselling question mis-used by interviewers but this morning, for me, perfect.  I feel an equal measure of trepidation & excitement. The former, hoping I don’t let down my fellow dancers with ‘senior moments’ & do justice to Edd & Alethia who have tenderly nurtured us to this point, by preparation via exercise, improvisations to finally creating this dance entitled FOCUS. By George, we have had to focus!

It will be a joy to see them again today, not only because they are such lovely people who have touched my heart but so that we can clarify the glitches we were unable to remember during the extra practices we gave ourselves last week, in their absence. Returning to my feelings, the latter (excitement), to be part of a professional performance with lights, costumes, music & the administration required to organise the whole ‘shebang’ in the DanceEast theatre at Jerwood Dance House.  Support from this amazing range of talented people is beyond my wildest dreams and leaves me speechless, well almost. And I’m sure I’m not alone.  Rehearsal today is from 14.30-21.00, to get us used to performing in the evening, so thoughtful and although getting close to my general sleep pattern, I’m hoping I’ll be too excited to be tired.
