Click the image to view dancers responses to Home from Homes creative consultation
Home from Home our radical, creative collaboration of 42 dancers aged over 50, directed by renowned choreographer Luca Silvestrini and devised and produced by EncoreEast. Celebrating older people dancing and challenges traditional views of age; what dance can be and how it is made.
The images and quotes in this digital display are based on the creative consultation that began the artistic process. All the dancers were asked to respond to a series of questions, using text, videos and images. Their responses informed the development of the four individual company pieces focused on ‘beginnings’, ‘middles’, ‘endings’ and ‘the bits in between’. Some found their way onto Instagram, the souvenir programme or the soundtrack of In the End we Begin.
Home from Home is a creative collaboration between EncoreEast, Cadenza, Damn Fine Dance and The Place Dancers. It is supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England, and co-commissioned by EncoreEast, DanceEast, The Place and Norwich Theatre.
