THRIVE hosted by Cascade Dance is a performance platform celebrating dance, created and performed by adults. We are thrilled to be invited to perform again this year. Tom Bowes is creating a new work for us called ‘and the things that remain’ and we are also performing a section of ‘In the End We Begin’ – our award-winning performance created by Luca Silvestrini in collaboration with Alethia Antonia. 

‘and the things that remain’ is a profound title for Tom’s emotion-filled dance – a joyous reflection of what it means to be a functioning human being. The individual pre-occupations, communicating in groups and becoming one, focusing beyond ourselves. 

We started looking at photos of people, scenes, weather patterns – light both natural and contrived. Tom choreographed on us and with us as we learnt phrases & improvised to create different patterns from the material. I can’t describe Tom’s chosen music – it masterfully defies description and like the dance needs to be experienced. It is a dance that is beyond words but full of meaning.
