
Letters – Damn Fine Dance
The creation of Letters was born from the first Lockdown of 2020. It was important to me to connect on a personal level with each dancer so I decided I would write a handwritten letter to each of them.

The creation of Letters was born from the first Lockdown of 2020. It was important to me to connect on a personal level with each dancer so I decided I would write a handwritten letter to each of them.

Community Dance is the focus of our group, the journey of expression and creativity in the form of dance. We are a small group of over 55’s and simply love dancing.

Behind Closed Doors (the dance film and web project), was something totally new for us. We had created physical production before but nothing like this.

EncoreEast has been awarded £6,509 from the Arts Council’s Let’s Create Jubilee Fund by Suffolk Community Foundation.

I think the 2 films also reflect the geography and demographic of where and with who they were made. Fine Lines from the artistic capital of Australia and Tystion from a working-class steel town in Wales.

This afternoon many hours of work culminated in the final edit of JOY, a dance film with Fine Lines Dance. Thanks for all your feedback, friends, local audiences and dancers. Now it is time to say this part is finished.
